Another Day In Paradise

Fall 2021 I had the opportunity to ride bikes on a small island in the south east Atlantic. Madeira is a Portages autonomous region that is approximately 30 miles long and 15 miles wide. It shoots up out of the ocean with a maximum elevation of 6,106 ft. There are 6 different microclimates on the island, allowing for some very dynamic tasting wine. And, if you can imagine, this makes for some spectacular mountain biking. We had an entire week of adventures, so I’ll just caption some photos instead of telling a story on this post.

A sucker for structures no matter which country I end up in.

Now for some food and drink pictures.

The tallest point of the island is out there somewhere.

Oh yeah! I almost forgot, bikes!

Rad crew: Tara, Me, and Levi.

Anyways, it was a pretty cool trip. If you ever get to go be sure to have a poncha for me. And if you want to ride bikes, get these folks to take you around the island.
